A CLONCURRY-BASED mining company is taking the installers of its recently built crusher plant to the Supreme Court.
CuDeco is seeking costs and damages from Equipment & Machinery Sales Pty Ltd for an alleged “substandard installation”.
The mining company’s quarterly report alleges that the recently built crusher plant based at the Rocklands Project needed major works and improvements to the electrical systems.
“The installation failed to comply with relevant contractual standards, Australian Standards and Queensland Mining Regulations,” the report said.
“The company also had to replace two failed gearboxes in the secondary and tertiary roller crusher circuits and was required to replace a number of other sub-standard parts during this period.”
The crusher is now operational, but needs fine-tuning and modifications to increase operational time.
“Indications are from our experienced crusher operators that up to an additional 200 tonnes per hour is achievable as a result of the rectification work undertaken,” the report said.
